Automatic Pausing is a feature that is performed by the system when the workflow setting, "Pause the project" is ON and changes are requested on a file.

This feature allows the Project Owner to stop the workflow, review the requested changes and then decide what action they want to take next.

Step 1: When creating a new project, you can keep the default setting to automatically Pause the project or change the setting to Continue the workflow.

Step 2: Under the Workflow Settings section on the create project window, choose what happens When changes are requested on an asset:

  • Pause the project (this is the default setting)

If changes are requested on a file, the project will be automatically paused and the project owner will be notified.

The project owner can then review the changes requested. At that point, necessary changes to the workflow can be made, such as restarting completed tasks, adding new tasks, or uploading a new version of the file.

Once changes are made or project owner decides to leave as is, they can Resume Project to continue the workflow.

  • Continue the workflow

If changes are requested on a file, the workflow will continue and all feedback will be collected.

If a new version of an asset or a new asset is added to the project, all completed approval tasks will be reopened.

Note: The workflow setting selected at the creation of the project can be changed if needed once the project is kicked off. The setting can be seen on the project details panel.
